AIST Experiment
May
4
Alright, I’ve got a few shout outs for the AIST show, and then I want to let you know about a little experiment I am planning on trying. First shout out is to Jhon. Jhon works in our rails shop. We keep most of our Marketing stuff (including old crates from shows) in the back of our rail shop. This morning I found out that I needed to have a piece of our P-40 at the show in case someone wanted to see it. I spoke with our Sales Manager, and, unfortunately, we did not have any ready accessible. He told me that there might be some in one of the crates. Jhon has probably unstacked those crates 3 times in the past week, so I felt really bad making him do it one more time. So let me just say, “Thanks Jhon!” I was able to find what I was looking for, and I’m sure the show will be better for it. My next shout out is to David (Gustav) Gilbertson. Getting everything ready for shipping was much less stressful this year because of him. I pretty much gave him a list of things that needed to go in the crate, told him how they needed to look (polished and pretty), and he took care of it! He even showed some remarkable leadership skills during last minute changes to the design by pulling a few of us into a meeting in order to determine next steps forward. I’m not even sure I can use words to describe all the work that he put into making this trade show a success. Finally, one last shout out goes to the entire TransTech shop. I know that making these displays takes away from our normal work, and I appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm in helping (this includes designing; building – machining, welding, and assembly; painting; and packaging and shipping). Our hope is that this show will generate more business! So that leads me to my experiment.
I want everyone to be able to see how their hard work is paying off. For that reason, I will be attempting to update our blog daily from the show. My goal is to do this only from the iPhone. I want to be at home with the technology, and, when I look at it, it seems pretty easy. What that means is that my posts will have video and will probably be pretty short. I downloaded a WordPress App, so, I hope, that this will be an intuitive and enjoyable process. Stay tuned to see how it goes. I will begin setting up tomorrow afternoon!
